Cookie Policy

Last updated October 13, 2026

A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser in order to recognise it on the next visit. This page explains which ones we use and what for. The short answer: only those needed for you to sign in, and advertising ones only if you want them.

Which cookies we use

  • Technical session cookies. They are set by our identity provider when you sign in to your account and are used to keep you signed in while you browse and to prevent another person from using your session. Without them it is not possible to access the study area.
  • Administration panel cookies. They are only set for whoever manages the content, in their own working session. If you are a student, you will never see them.
  • Preference cookies. alefx_aviso remembers that you have accepted the important notice at the entrance and alefx_cookies remembers whether you accepted or rejected advertising cookies, so that we do not ask you again on every page. They last twelve months and contain nothing but that choice.

These cookies do not need your consent: without them the service would not work or would not remember what you have just decided.

Which cookies we do not use

We do not use analytics or profiling cookies, whether our own or third-party, and there are no advertising or social media cookies other than the Meta pixel explained below, and only if you accept it. Nor do we use tracking pixels in the emails we send you. Unless you accept, the waiting list page does not set advertising cookies: you can leave your email without any of that being stored in your browser.

We do have a system that alerts us when something breaks, so that we learn of a fault without waiting for you to tell us. It does not set cookies, does not track you across sites and does not record your screen; exactly what it sends is explained in the privacy policy.

The live gold price arrives through a connection from your browser to Binance, the market data provider. We do not use it to track you and we do not pass it any data from your account; what Binance receives when connecting is also explained in the privacy policy.

That is why the cookie banner only asks you about advertising: the other cookies are strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested and do not require prior consent.

Advertising: the Meta pixel, only if you accept it

The first time you visit the public pages we ask whether you accept the Meta pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, the company behind Facebook and Instagram). Until you accept, no Meta script is loaded and nothing is sent to Meta. Accepting and rejecting carry the same weight, and rejecting does not take any feature of the site away from you.

  • What it does. It tells us whether the people who arrive from our ads join the waiting list or subscribe, so that we know whether the advertising works, and it allows ads to be shown to people with interests similar to those of our visitors.
  • Which cookies it sets. _fbp, which identifies your browser, and _fbc, which only appears if you arrive from a Meta ad. Both last 90 days and are third-party cookies: Meta manages them.
  • What Meta receives. The page you open, your IP address, data about your browser and device, the identifiers in those cookies and two actions: having left your email on the waiting list and having subscribed. Never the email itself, your name or the payment amount.
  • Where. Only on the public pages — home page, courses, waiting list, subscription and legal pages. It is not enabled in the student area.
  • Who is responsible. For this data, Meta and we jointly decide what it is used for. How Meta processes it is explained in its data policy, and may involve transfers outside the European Economic Area, with the safeguards Meta describes there.

You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: , in this text and in the footer of every page, deletes your choice and the banner appears again. If you reject or withdraw consent, we delete the pixel cookies and stop sending data to Meta. What data processing this involves is explained in the privacy policy.

How we measure visits, without cookies

On the public pages —the home page, the courses, the waiting list and these legal pages— we count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It does not set cookies or store anything in your browser. It collects aggregated data: which page is opened, which site the visit comes from, the country, the device type, the operating system and the browser. To avoid counting the same visit twice it uses an identifier calculated from the request and discarded after 24 hours: it cannot recognise you or follow you from one day to the next or across sites, and we do not store your IP address.

It is not enabled in the student area. What data it involves is explained in the privacy policy.

If we ever use other measurement tools that set cookies or identify you, we will ask for your consent before activating them, as with the Meta pixel, and update this page with the details of each cookie and its duration.

How to disable them

You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings — Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge allow this in their privacy section. Please note that if you block the technical cookies you will not be able to sign in or continue your lessons: this is not a limitation we impose, it is that the session can no longer be remembered.
